My homework this week was to make animatics, I began straight away using procreate to animate because I haven’t gotten the knack for Krita yet and it won’t let me save videos.

I haven’t made animatics before so this was a new experience.

I sent it into the group and once most people had sent theirs in I took them all and edited them together.

By looking at the clips we did have something that wasn’t sitting right with us. Alec followed us by pointing out that honestly, it didn’t make any sense. We looked back on the script and unknown to me a new one had been made. I was a bit upset that I was left out of the loop, to be honest, and I did voice my concern. The group did apologize but I knew I couldn’t let them down so I began to redraw my storyboard and we rewrote the script again.

I spent less time on this board, incorporating a character that I had been told was scrapped. Ultimately my explosion didn’t fit the storyboard anymore so I changed it again.

I changed the last tile and it began to fit together a little more.

A map was made so that I could understand the locations and where I’d be set, the hallway, and the control room. I do sometimes feel that my ideas arent’ being considered as another character design of Walt Disney I made was scrapped for someone else’s. I can learn from this, and spend more time drawing and focusing on detail and less on the detail of animatics.

I recreated clips from my animatic, slowing the framerate down. I had it set to 12 because that would be our final fps but was told that animatics didn’t need to be that detailed which was relieving.

I got Andrea and Zoe in my group to help me with referencing so that I could speed up my process and it helped a lot.

After finalizing my animatic and getting the all-clear I began to focus on the background setting, trying to match our choices which I am still working on.
