This week for homework I had to create zubat from pokemon. I was excited to start this project because anything 3D animation is really interesting to me. I didn’t realize how long this animation would take me.
I enjoyed the process of using a photo to sculpt the bat and was interested in how simple it really was but when it came to the mouth and wings I ran into some problems.
The mouth of my bat never really got fixed but it wasn’t as noticeable as I expected once I added colour.
I did run into a problem when adding colour to the wings in that the rear end of the wings would not stay blue but instead were pink. If I changed this problem the face of the pink wing would turn blue which means I had made a mistake early on but it was too late to fix it so I just made sure this mistake wasn’t visible in the final animation.
I really enjoyed animating the bat’s movements and learning new tricks, I turned on automatic keyframes which made the process a lot easier.
