Reflection

As a whole, I enjoyed this task because of the hotel Transylvania character designing and also learning how to use armatures for posing my character was great but it has also gave me some headaches and plenty of frustration. Although my vampire hunter wasn’t exactly a monster, I felt I captured Genndy Tartakovsky’s art styleContinue reading Reflection

200 Word Summary

During these weeks of learning blender, apart from the late start with covid, my experience has been mostly a smooth one that I enjoyed quite a lot and learned a lot also because if I look back at each passed task they seem easy in comparison to when I was working on them at theContinue reading 200 Word Summary

Helmet

For my helmet I referenced a character from the game overwatch called Reinhardt, specifically his balderich skin which has always been a favourite of mine. I didn’t want to recreate the helmet but make something inspired by it or similar and still it was hard because of its very complex shape. I used a defaultContinue reading Helmet

Sword

I am a fan of swords so I was excited about this task, but my preference for clean minimalistic designs was a problem as my lecturer advised that a simple shape would not gain much marks because it would be too easy to make so I set abut making my sword a little more complexContinue reading Sword

UV Maps and Texturing

I enjoyed this patk of class as I do enjoy making things very much but I enjoy making them look nice even more so learning how to break objects down to make paintable UV maps was very interesting to me.

Cup (boba tea)

Not much to say about the difficulty of this task but is was useful to work with clear materials, morphing objects to create wavy shapes and using curves to create objects such as a straw.

Zubat

The Zubat was so far one of the hardest tasks because of its shape, being a creature with a lot of rounded body parts with difficult shapes compared to inanimate object with straight edges and simple structures. The animation part was fairly straight forward much like the snowman but I did have a problem withContinue reading Zubat

Tie Fighter

The Tie Fighter was a very good introduction in to using the mirror modifier which I had wondered before about having seen people use blender so getting to use it and learn how it works was great because I like to make things even and symmetrical, it also saves me a lot of work havingContinue reading Tie Fighter

Skateboard

The skateboard task was a bit more difficult due to the complexity of the axel and wheels but that really only makes it take longer because the online videos make it simple by following along. This was also the first task played around with sunlight and shadows for creating a nice final image.
