ID Magazine

i-D Magazine is a British magazine founded in 1980 by Terry Jones, Terry Jones was a former art directer for the infamous Vogue Magazine before he founded his own magazine, i-D. The magazine publication became a forefront of the postmodernist movement with their emphasis being placed on the same ideas and philosophies to the design movement, their first edition highlighted the anarchist style by having each individual copy hand stapled and a type writer was used in numerous editions of the magazine in its early years.[1]

With the magazine focusing on trends in fashion, arts, design, music and contemporary youth culture, the magazine joined Vice Media in 2012 where they began to expand to digital mediums and becoming one of the leading video platforms. The designs of i-D Magazine focused their efforts on the use of photography and typography throughout the designs of each edition, in addition to being renowned for their magazine publications i-D Magazine have also published a number of books as well as creating exhibitions around the world.[2]

I have included some designs from i-D Magazine below to give you an idea on how they used photography and typography as well as displaying and following ideas and philosophies to the postmodernist design movement.
