Muir McNiel
Muir Mcniel is a design company founded by Hamish Muir and Paul McNiel in 2009, the company focuses on exploring the use of different mediums like typography, colour and video. Paul Mcniel was a renowned typography design, lecturer and author of his own book, The Visual History of Typography in 2017, McNiel taught Contemporary Typographic Media at the London College of Communications a year after creating Muir McNiel with Hamish Muir, he taught the course at the design school up until 2015. Hamish Muir was a renowned graphic designer who co-founded the design studio 8vo situated in London as well as teaching at some of the most prestigious design schools across the world like Basel School of Design in Switzerland, the Dublin National School of Art and Design and the London College of Communications where he worked along side Paul McNiel for many years.[1]
Personally I love the look of the work and design style of Paul McNiel and Hamish Muir, I find their use of typography and composition futuristic as well as modern, I like to focus my personal design projects towards modernism and futurism so I will definitely be drawing inspiration from Muir McNiel.
