Final Character Design

My worm antagonist character went through a lot of subtle changes and variants, but now I think I’ve landed on one that hits where I’ve been aiming:

I kept in mind aspects of design that can make a character feel aggressive, so I tried to use steep and sharp-ish angles where I could. I also brought in an ‘X’ motif where the point of the brim meets his moustache, and with the ammo storage around his chest which I think added to the sense of aggression and intimidation.

I’m very glad I thought of the ammo around his chest for I felt the design was looking a touch bare before.

There’s no name for him at the moment, so ‘Worm Antagonist is how I’ve been referring to him.

^ Additional sketch I did to help me find the character. I still like this sketch and I think the posing and stance of him is more menacing, and I’ll probably keep it in mind with the finished model sheet when I try to model the character and later in animation, too.

Though this character seems simple enough I feel it’ll be tricky enough to model- the hat in particular I think could be challenging with how steep and precise the brim is.
