Rigging this claw took alot of trials and errors. Inhindsight I should have planned how I wanted the Claw to move more specifically rather than just ” I want the claw to move mechanically”. I neglected mechanical rigging from my first post about rigging the draft claw since the constraints were too constricting and that I wanted my team mates to be able to animate and express the emotions of claw freely. So I opt for a simpler way of movement.
One thing I would change about it those is adding more drivers and shapekeys so that the “arms” of the claw could move and mirror eachother. For the eyes i followed a youtube video as i wanted, again a more expressive and manipulative rig rather than the eye rig provided on blackboard.
I am pretty happy with the eyes but it does take times to make sure everyones copy of the model had the right nodes in place as well as learning how to move it, So i provided a tutorial on how to move it. I also asked everyone else to send a how to tutorial of their character models because everyone rigged theirs differently.
