IXD301 – Elements App Review & Prototyping – (Week 11)

App Review

Today I got feedback on my app so far from Kyle.

The feedback Kyle gave was to add the fun fact into the text box rather than having a separate page as it will just simplify things a bit.

I’m also now thinking that I might remove the atomic weight and density details as they might be a little too advanced for 10 year olds, or maybe even round it to the nearest whole number just to avoid complication.

Now that I’ve made advancements in my app and have majority of the pages complete (minus the test section), I thought now would be a good time to start adding transitions to make the clickable prototype.

I definitely struggled with figuring this out at first, as I hadn’t really planned out how I wanted my pages to transition from one to another. I think a clickable arrow and button style transition works better for my app, so I just used the ‘on tap’ transition for everything rather than a hover, drag or scroll. I really underestimated how time consuming this step would be, and I realised half way through that for my elements I needed duplicates as there are two different pages that have a user flow leading to the elements (from the periodic table and also from the forest).
