What is my major project story focus on

The major project Story Theme was centrally around Comedy. We wanted a film that displayed what the story was about and also have it comedically funny and cute.

The first 2 sketches looked at film poster that had a comedic feeling being displayed to the audiences.

Book cover idea 

For my 3rd sketch I looked at making a landscape idea for a poster. I though about the project and initial idea is that the little robot doesn’t want the other robots so I wanted to show that the other two robots are not welcomed by the little robot and he’s trying to get away from him.

Refence -Lion king poster

Our group at the time when brainstorming ideas we were looking at Disney movie posters. I seen the lion king poster and i came with the idea of the robots being silhouettes against the poster following each other. I also wanted to make them to follow their height order like the the lion poster had.

 

Sketch #3

I made this sketch that shows the 2 robots following him thinking they are sneakily following him. they however are load and are destroying and shake the ground below them while they tip toe.  This added the comedy aspect that the group wanted.

Early Poster concept ideas

Title – “Robotanist”

At this point the group all finally decided to name our animation “Robotanist” 

 

Here are the main 3 poster (with a variant of one) that I settled to show the group. We went and a call and went though what poster worked for the animation.

 

Here our Mirro board showing up bring all our poster together so we can round down which one is the best out of the 10.

With some edits and changes to the poster. We finally decide to pick the one that the Small robot jumps off the robots to try grab the small flower

 

This was a very popular poster idea and i liked this idea a lot. It shows clearly that the robot is trying to get the flower no matter what. that even means using the robots to get what it wants.

We did as a group picked this poster as our final poster however we still discussed about it and with advice with the lecture we decided to re pick the poster and moved to picking the walking poster

Walking poster 

We went with this poster that is an improvement of what the first poster looked like. This Poster displays clearly that their a journey of 3 robots and this also shows clearly that the little robot is not happy with the other two robots following him. That rounds up the whole film perfectly that the other poster were not showing in them. The film is mostly about this conflict. I think this is the best poster i made from the group and I’m happy it was picked.
