I’m really proud of both my team and myself for our final animations.
This has been a great experience to practice animation and I truly feel although I have improved. If I were to redo the animation I would extend shot 4 so that Fern is seen running out of the frame and then have her out of breath in the next as she ascends the stairs to make the staging appear more natural instead of the harsh cut between shot 4 and 5 . A consistent colouring style (or not colouring frames all )would have made the short more cohesive but the time I took to colour shot 3 in grayscale prevented me from colouring shot 5.
Originally Ferns scream was meant to carry over from the previous scene into mine but the sound effect used previously wasn’t long enough so I replaced it with a school bell ringing. This implies that Ferns scream can’t be heard by the bell and the busy students moving about class and makes a clear statement about the change of setting.
