Zim&Zou

Zim&Zou are French artists composed of Lucie Thomas, born in 1987 and Thibault Zimmermann, born in 1986, both studied graphic design and advertising for 3 years. They decided to create installations using materials such as paper, cardboard, thread and wood. Paper inspires the duo as a tangible material due to its infinite range of colours, unique textures and its range of versatility. Zim&Zou have created illustrations and installations for many books, magazines and leading luxury brands such as Hermes, where they created a paper village based on blooming flowers and colourful fungus.


Hari and Deepti

Hari and Deepti a married duo that are based In Mumbai but known internationally for there paper it and backlit style. They have held shows and workshops throughout Asia and Europe, showcasing their love for storytelling and how they tell them through the medium of paper. During an interview with Colossal they said that “Paper is brutal in its simplicity as a medium. It demands the attention of the artist while it provides the softness they need to mold it in to something beautiful. It is playful, light, colorless and colorful. It is minimal and intricate. It reflects light, creates depth and illusions in a way that it takes the artist through a journey with limitless possibilities.” The married couple work together to manipulate layers of paper that then assemble into a lightbox, with the different opacity the layering causes, an image emerges once light is shone from the back, creating a visual story experience.
