When talking about collaboration in regards to animation, it goes without saying that the two go together hand in hand, as animation as a whole is a collaborative effort, of course there are many indie artists/animators who work on their own, but for animation studios, the use of collaboration and group efforts definitely are key, with so many various aspects that need to go into animation, such as conceptual artists, character designers, writers, story boarders and potentially any other specialized mediums, it’s no wonder why collaboration plays a big part in it, it’s as Ray Con, American film producer, says “That’s what’s great about animation: it’s collegial, and it’s all about collaboration, any good animated film is good for animation”
It’s hard to choose a specific animation studio to discuss how much collaboration took effect in its production due to how common it is in the industry, though since I have to discuss one, I’d have to go with studio Ghibli, probably one of the most well known Japanese animation studios, studio Ghibli has had a long line of directors and producers, such as Isao Takahata, Hayao Miyazaki, Toshio Suzuki and as of from 2016, the company having up to one-hundred and fifty employees, the company and even collaborated alongside Level-5 as the main art directors for the game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch.
