Textile Art-Fashion Project

For This module we’ve been tasked with a fair variety of projects, to stat off we had to create a mood board consisting of six different colours, including black and white, then using these six colours from our mood board, we had to go on and create as well as develop ten different photographs of clothes in various patterns and shapes, we then had to use those photographs and re-create their patterns through mixed media, I.G. paint, marker, material, etc. we also had to do a speed/pattern drawing challenge, the speed drawing consisted of us having to draw various different styles of clothes in as quick a time as possible, the pattern challenge involved us taking an

finally for our final project, we had too use spare/old denim clothes and repurpose them into new textile/fashion objects.

Finale thoughts

the final design of the denim glove was a far cry from what I initially hoped, due to time constraints as well as simple lack of skill as never having done a project like this before, i never got the design i hoped for, which would have had the base of each finger defined in the denim, however this the finished design still somewhat resembles whet I was going for so it isn’t too bad.

Textile Art- Weaving Project

For this project we were give two different tasks, the first task involved us using various pieces of recycled paper to create paper weaves in a variety of different patterns, our second task was too then do cross stitching, we had to do a a variety of patterned hand stitches using a variety of different materials such as wool, thread, etc.

(Due to time constraints as well as over-lapping work, only four cross stitches were able to be made.)

Fine Art

For this module we were tasked with creating a set out of a variety of different objects and props we had around our houses/rooms, this set was then photographed at a variety of different angles and used as the basis for our fine art, we first had to create two A3 charcoal studies of different angles of the set, we then had to do two coloured wet studies on A2 pages.
