I sit on the edge of a rather steep drop, overlooking a bland polished wooden floor, with the large rectangle behind me that always seems to play sound and noise, I seem to have very little time for peace. I’ve always got the same two figures standing next to me, peering off in the same direction as I am. one much more stumpy than the other, i glare at the corner of a wall with a guitar leaning against, though every once and a while a much taller figure will walk past and I’ll feel a strike to the back of my head.
Answer- Sugar Skull
Research task: Alternate Means Research Task
in this assignment we had to craft and make various forms of architecture at of different materials that we could find lying around our homes.
The first part of the task was to create house on stilts, using only a watch box and some garden wires i created a simplistic stilted house
For the second part of our task we had to create multiple houses using materials, i managed to create two small igloo-esc structures, though due to time constraints I could not make more
For the final section of our task, we had to create a city scape, I decided to go for a more 2D look by using flat vinyl covers and cardboard cut-outs as various rectangle buildings, though I also used smaller cardboard cut-outs for specific structures such as housings or factory chimneys
in this task for alt means, we were assigned to make paintbrushes out of various types of materials found around and close to where we were, these model paintbrushes were then used to get an idea of the different shades and shapes the materials made.
Shades/shapes (I did not have access to Indian inks so I had to make do with water colours)
in this section of our alternate means module, we were tasked to first blindly draw images of ourselves without taking our pencils off the page, this would then be used as a basis for our wire framing exercise, where we had to line up a piece of wire to the drawing in order to create a wire frame of the drawing.
