Sculpture – Ideas

For our sculpture class, we were asked to come up with some ideas for a sculpture that would be built near the play park next to the uni.

Below are my ideas:

My first idea was for the diagram of the insideĀ  of a flower sculpture. This could be educational for children to learn about how a flower works. I could also possibly have removable parts to help children or others learn where the different parts of a flower are.

My second idea was for a sculpture around a plot of communal earth. The people sculptures around the mound of earth represent that the earth is for the community and can be used to plant anything; plants, flowers, vegetables. The open arms of the sculptures represent that it is open to anyone and everyone.

I enjoyed trying to come up with these ideas as it got my brain thinking about how to visually represent things. I think each idea turned out well.
