The second person I decided to do some research on for sculpture is Tony Cragg.
Cragg was born in Liverpool in 1949 but ended up moving to Germany in 1977 and still lives there to this day. In the early days of Cragg’s work, his work consisted of installations of discarded materials and found objects. In 1977, he completed an MA in sculpture at the Royal College of Art in London. The majority of sculptures that he made were made in Greece and his original design was based off of the Stonehenge.
I think Cragg’s work is pretty interesting, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such strangely stacked looking sculptures before. I also think his work with painted miscellaneous found objects is pretty interesting too and is definitely a fascinating way to create different pieces of work.
