Textiles – Denim Challenge

Our overall task for our textiles class was a denim challenge, where we were asked to take a old pair of jeans and repurpose them into something else. I decided to repurpose mine into a pillow case/

I ended up using two different pairs of jeans instead of just one to vary the colour. I cut slits into the blue jeans and cut the black jeans almost completely into strips before weaving the back jeans through the slits of the blue jeans. As I can’t stitch well, I used bulldog clips to hold the pillow case together. I also put a square pillow I already owned inside the pillow case so it looked more full. The sections of the blue jeans I had cut out were a bit on the big side, bigger than the sections of the black jeans. If I was to redo this challenge, I would take more care in measuring out the sections of jeans before I cut them out.
