Sara Soueidan || Pocket profiles

Sara Soueidan is a Lebanese independent Web user interface and design systems engineer, that has previously worked with clients such as Khan Academy, Herman Miller, and Superfriendly.

Sara’s journey began in eighth grade when she was first introduced to HTML in school. She instantly fell in love with it. It made sense and felt like a second language for her. She claimed that she never thought of herself to major in something related to tech, and was leaning towards studying architecture. After a series of events, she ended up studying computer science. She fell in love building websites and in 2013 when she began her blog, sharing what she have been taught, she began receiving clients.

She is now running workshops, helps companies and agencies to build websites and applications, with a strong focus on progressive enhancement, performance, and accessibility. In 2015 she won the Developer of the year award and has worked with several clients that we know of Like Khan Academy, where she created a micro-website for the 2018 annual report, and the front-end foundation for the 10th anniversary of Smashing Magazine. She is also the author of Codrops CSS Reference and a co-author of Smashing Book 5.
