Week 13 (Final Animation)
This week I was working to fully complete my animation. I added colour to each of the characters and made the background flow better, unlike my last draft where it seemed to move of it’s own accord.
I cleaned up some of the lines that looked feathered and added in Auriga (the goat) looking up at the map Big Dipper is holding to make it lead a little better into the next part of the animation where he is eating it.
The centaur’s hair was also modified and I think it looks a lot better now. In the previous draft it looked very straggly and unnatural.
I’m really happy with how my animation turned out, especially since my first time trying anything like this.
What I found most challenging when working on this was keeping the character volume and shape consistent. When the camera is rotating around Orion, it was very hard to keep it the same level and keep him in proportion. I had to continually redraw each frame as I found they would either be getting bigger or smaller even after adding in key points of the turn. However, I think I managed to get it to where it looks quite natural and I am very pleased with it.
I also learned so many different techniques from working on this, such as tweening, which I used when zooming in on the centaur, and the importance of separate layers.

Working as a team was really enjoyable because we were all able to bounce ideas off each other and no one wanted to let anyone down. Everyone in my group was a lot of fun to work with 😀
