Looking back over this year, I have learned so much and improved not only my skills, but also my confidence, as I was very nervous about going into this course at the start of the year.  I was very worried that I would not be able to keep up, however I found that it was very different from how I imagined, and I had a lot of fun learning and working in groups to complete larger projects as well as my own assignments.  This year has really opened my eyes to what a broad industry animation is, and how many different jobs there are as well as the workflow process that goes into creating an animation.

While I really enjoyed working in 2D, I found 3D to be the most appealing and definitely more challenging!  There are endless tools and resources, and I feel that it is more forgiving.  I love being able to look at a finished 3D model and be shocked that I made it myself.  However, this doesn’t mean that I won’t also be working to improve in 2D as well.

I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history and techniques of animation.  Being able to hear from people who were currently working within the animation industry was really interesting and I liked hearing about how they got there and what they were working on.

I’m amazed at what I have accomplished in only one year on the course, and yet I still feel that I have barely skimmed the surface.  Knowing that makes me very excited for next year, and I plan to continue bettering the skillset that I have acquired, over summer in preparation.
