Alt Means – Houses on Stilts Task

For this task i had to create houses on stilts out of cardboard and other found materials.

For my first house i used hot glue sticks for the stilts, a plastic cup for the house and cardboard/pom-poms/string for the doors/windows, adding accents of yellow to make the house stand out a bit from boring old cardboard.

For my second house i explored using a different shaped terrain. I placed a glass bowl on a plate and cut the stilts to different lengths so that they would mould around the ‘terrain’ so the house sat flat, compared to my first house which I used bright, happy colours, for my second i painted the cardboard grey and used neutral tones of cream and brown for the accents and background so that the house looked dark and dreary.
