For this project we were asked to collect random items that resemble letters and create a full alphabet, slogans and to draw some of the letter pieces. I had never done anything like this before and found it very enjoyable, although it was challenging to find some objects.
This slogan is a play on the words ‘let go’, instead it says ‘lego’ as the M is made up of two lego starwars drones holding hands. It was also inspired by the current circumstances.
Experimental observational studies of some of the objects.
A5. I layered dark brown gelato on top of sepia then scraped into it to create the shapes. I really like the outcome of this experiment.
A4. I chose to draw this as I enjoyed the reflective surface. I used charcoal, a rubber and a white pen to add highlights.
The Q object remined me of art deco so I decided to create a pattern and experimented with different colour schemes.
A5. I used black and gold to resemble the 1920s deco aesthetic, I really like how this turned out. It was created using a brush pen and gold pen.
A5. This piece was created using watercolour paint without water, acrylic and fine liner. I enjoy the warmth these colours bring to the drawing, but I prefer the black and white.
