For this project we were asked to complete a range of experimental drawings on location with out using pencil. I found this task helpful in loosening up my style.
A2, this piece was painted on an old wooden canvas and is the view from a park close to my house. I stuck string on to act as stems. I tried to use vibrant hues of green and blue to emulate how the sun was shining at the time.
A3. I set a ten minute time limit for each of these drawings to improve my sketching under pressure. I used coloured felt tips and like the bright hues.
This A2 drawing depicts the Clyde Valley memorial in Larne. I used a mixture of watercolour, acrylic paint and charcoal.
A2 study of the Princess Victoria memorial at Larne Harbour. I used watered down acrylic pains and enjoy the vibrant colours.
A2 study on cardboard of a bandstand at a local park. I used acrylic paint to create the sky and grass then sketched on top with black and sepia charcoal and sharpie.
A2 study of Chaine Memorial Tower at Larne Harbour. I stuck a sheet of tissue paper onto the page and worked on top of it using brush pens, chalk pastels and watercolour, I love the texture achieved with the tissue paper.
Concertina Project. I went to a park and drew the view looking out at the town. I used: charcoal, fine liner, gelato, coloured felt tips, neon yellow pencil with charcoal on top, red, blue and yellow pen to create an anaglyph effect, water colour on top of oil pastel and oil pastels.
