This session was all using dampened paper and the process of scraping the ink onto the plate then wiping away the excess so the ink settles in the scratches made to the plexi plate. These are my A5 proofs, the very first prints i took of my two plates to see what the final image looked like and if I needed to go back into it or use less ink. I wasn’t sure how these would turn out drawing and scraping into the clear plastic was tricky but the outcome was worth it I really like the clean lines and contrast.
I took two of my first plate, the cans as I didn’t wipe enough ink off the first time but I was happy with the image, the second was much cleaner. Then I moved onto the larger paper for my proper print which turned out really clean witch defined lines that show the shadows I had created using the linear tone which I haven’t tried before but think I will get better used to and use more often.
A5 proof
I was really happy with my proof of the second plate, the image came out clear I wiped enough ink away and didn’t need to go back into the plate. I was worried I used too much line but I really like the contrast and definitive shapes I created especially the tap and circular dip in the sink. I then moved onto the proper print which came out so clear, I did have a mishap with the first try as the ink smudged so I printed it again.
