This is the animation I made for AAD012. I had to pick a social issue to base my animation around so I chose recycling as the theme. I made it using paper, pencils and permanent markers, as well as doing one scene completely in watercolor. There are 153 unique frames in this animation.
I used a program called “Stop Motion Studio” for the filming of the animation. I filmed each shot of the short individually to get a sense of what they would look like before I put of them together. There were several shots that I approached differently for the final version compared to the original shots.
One of the things I did that I didn’t do when I first filmed the shots was that I zoomed the frame out on some shots so that they have more appealing framing. If I zoomed out so far that you color see the surface that the paper was laid on, I covered it with more paper so that it would look more seamless. Another thing I did is that I added motion blur to more scenes so the movement for certain shots have more impact.
I’m happy with how my animation came out and I believe I’ve improved since my last animation.
