This is Buddy Bradley from the comic “Hate” created by Peter Bagge. I chose this character due to Peter Bagge’s character designs having a flow to them. His characters have slanted bodies and noodle arms so Bagge can draw really expressive poses with his characters.
2)
This character is the antagonist of the anime film, Kin No Tori (The Golden Bird) directed by Toshio Hirata. The character designs for the movie were done by Manabu Ohashi. This design appeals to me due to the use of strong silhouette and shapes with the character.
3)
This is Samurai Jack created by Gennedy Tartakovsky. I chose this character because of the structure of his design and strong use of shape.
I took these studies of these characters and used I what I learnt from drawing them and created a drawing with all 3 characters. Here is the sketch.
