After Ronan’s talk on rug making, I wanted to make my own but with the rag rug technique. I had a kit I received for my birthday last November so I thought now was the perfect time to try it out.

I used scrap fabrics I had from other projects and cut them into strips, I then wrapped them around this wooden block tool and cut them to the required size.

 

I then pulled each piece through the holes in my rug template as shown below.

I didn’t have time to complete the entire rug although this was enough for me to learn the technique and see what the outcome of this method is when put together.
