Neon & Kitsch

Neon colors — often called fluorescent colors — are, at their base, extremely bright lights. Neons, like all colors, are visual representations of light. Since neon colors are especially bright, they’re best described as extremely luminescent versions of primary and secondary colours.

Kitsch– art, objects, or design considered to be in poor taste because of excessive garishness or sentimentality, but sometimes appreciated in an ironic or knowing way.

For this mood board I focused on the eclectic style of ‘Kitsch’ as well as the neon colour scheme to bring out what I felt suited the theme but was also reflective of my own style. I combined as much as possible onto the one page as I felt it is best for me to put down as much as I can so I have lots of inspiration to draw from.
