During the first blackboard call, we gave a recap on our world so far and also added the fact that the good scientists could initially become wary of the evil scientist villain Doctor O’Sullivan through his obsession with combining technology with the hybrid animals, with the prime example being the Jelly Drones which are jellyfish/crab hybrids combined with technology.

The second blackboard call was when the groups were being finalised and everyone went to the idea they would most like to work on. For me, I was content being with the hybrid animals group and had grown pretty attached to the idea so I decided to stay. My other teammates are Rory and Timmy, and we began discussing who was doing what with regards to the actual idea. We also clarified that while the hybrids can talk, only the hybrids can talk to other hybrids and the humans can only understand the hybrids through their actions such as nudging a door if they want to get out.

I decided that I would focus on the main characters which are the 5 animal hybrids and 3 good scientists, and this includes figuring out who the main characters are gonna be and doing character sheets for each of them. So far I have figured out who the main animal hybrids are based on everyone’s contributions to the group from the previous weeks which are the following:

So far I have already completed the character sheet containing the descriptions and personalities of the Pandalotl, but I still need to complete the character sheets for the other hybrid animals and the 3 good scientists once I choose them. Once I have those complete, I will then redraw the characters using everyone’s concept art as reference that way we all know what to animate and each design is relatively consistent in style.

In preparation for Week 6 of “Studies Advice – One to One tutorials” we were tasked with ensuring our blogs were updated with the work we’ve done so far this semester so I went and made sure all my work was up to date and that I included references in the blog posts when necessary. The tutorials are to give us all advice and feedback on our work and I’m hoping I did my work correctly, but even then there’s always room for improvement and I’m hoping I can improve my work based on the advice and feedback I will be given.
