For this task we were asked to create a zine based on our interests. I found coming up with different topics a little difficult so I decided to create a mindmap of different things I was interested in and tried to narrow my options down. From each catergory or topic I added more branches to try and expand my ideas for each more to allow making a decision easier for me.

I finally choose three topics: Rocketman, a movie, That 70’s Show, a TV show, and Harry Potter, a book series. I made 3 separate mind maps to help me make a final decision. From each idea i stemmed different potential page ideas and how far i could take each option in my project. I took into account, content, colour scheme and different visuals I could use for each.

I chose That 70’s Show as it is my favourite show and I want to make my zine colourful with a lot of visuals and after researching I liked the typography that was prominent in the 70’s. I want to introduce life as a teen in the 70’s including fashion and relationships that are portrayed within this show I created a moodboard in which I can keep referring to throughout the project.

I also created a small collage of potential page designs that I found interesting and that could be changed and manipulated to form a 70’s aesthetic.
