Floating Light Shade

For this task, I used pastel paper as I wanted to investigate the way the colours connected and communicated with each other, I used purple, pink, and 2 shades of yellow. I decided to use paper as I found through the paper folding tasks it was the easiest to fold in comparison to the card and cardboard. I made individual components, each unique and stuck them together with glue to create little clusters of folded shapes. I tried to use the fold lines to attach them together for continuity. The clusters get progressively smaller working up the structure. I used a needle and thread to sew through each cluster connecting them together, making them dangle and float in the air. Each sting is tied to a singular cardboard donut shape at the top.

This is my light shade in the dark with a torch mimicking how it would work. I tried to focus on the shapes and shadows created by the light. It resembles a mobile. I really like the outcome of my product.
