Denim Challenge (UPDATED)

For this challenge I have decided to make a skirt. It will be a wrap style skirt. It will be made of different patches of denim. I began by making a long collage of each piece of denim placed side by side and pinned together, to later be sewn.

I started by cutting up two pairs of old jeans.
I then started to pin bits of the skirt together.
I labelled each section with numbers and sections in which I knew I wanted to bleach to a lighter shade.
I then started to pin on accessories.
This was me bleaching a couple of sections of jeans. It turns out the jeans where bleach resistant so the colour didn’t go as light as I expected but they still managed to get light enough to create more of a contrast
This is the skirt at the end of the pinning process.

This is my finished product. It is a denim patch skirt I stitched together using a running stitch. I embroidered some of the patches using a thicker pink thread to add some dimension to the piece, i again used running stitch. Overall i really like the outcome of this piece.
