Incendio Maquette

This is my template. I sketched an outline of what I wanted the wings to be like and started to draw my pattern. I used a small button to create the circles and cut out sections with a scalpel. I also made a tabs at the side so subsequent sides could attach neatly.
This is the finished template. I drew around the cup to create the circle in the middle. There are five wings around the outside of circle. I used a scalpel to cut out the design.
This is the finished maquette I really liked how it turned out. Using the tabs I was able to neatly stick the wings together with glue. I was going to put a stand on it like how it would be if it was real but it kept falling over. The real version would spin and contain solar panels with LED lights.

I positioned the maquette next to the window to get an idea of what would happen if the sun shone through. I had the maquette at the window so the sun wouldn’t be directly overhead, it was an angle. I really like the pattern it created.
I used a torch to shine the light directly overhead to see what the pattern would look like if the sun was overhead and it was how I imagined it. I really like how this maquette turned out.
