Black Lives Matter Plaza is a two block long section of 16th Street NW in Downtown Washington. It was created as part of the George Floyd protests where the Department of Public Works painted the words “Black Lives Matter” in 35 ft yellow capital letters along the street. I think the size and vibrancy of it makes the message so much more effective as it is impossible to miss by people in Washington and therefore reinforces the protest in their heads. The Black Lives Matter Plaza achieved a place of hope and healing and is a gathering place for activists.

This design poster puts forward the idea of the inequality of gay people all over the world and reminds people that it is still extremely common today. The colours in this poster make the message effective as they represent the pride flag and so the audience would immediately know what the poster is about. The bars used in the picture also suggest that people feel trapped because of who they are.
