In this workshop, we were tasked with designing a shoe from the decade of our choice. I chose the Seventies, and created some quick sketches, icons and patterns to add to my shoe. As the Seventies was a very funky era, I decided to design a block heeled boot instead of a shoe for my final product.

After much trial and error, I finally came up with my own pattern for my boot, and designed this groovy pair of 70’s block heels.
In this workshop we created a mould out of wet clay by pressing found objects into a thick slab. We then poured plaster into the mould and let it dry.

In the afternoon, we used similar steps with wet sand and found objects, making an imprint in the compacted sand, and pouring a liquid metal on top to produce a silver broach like product.
