As the final part of the fine art workshop, we had to create two A2 paintings using acrylic paint. Using our photographs and previous studies as references. The first step was to put a base wash of colour onto each page and then using quick brush strokes I mapped out the basic shapes and outlines of the objects. This was a completely new technique for me and it took a while for me to get the hang of it, though I feel as I worked my way through the pieces I found myself improving. I decided to focus in on the mirror and hairbands as I felt they were the most recognisable and allowed me to explore the tones and shadows and I am pleased with how they turned out.
