For this task we had to find materials around us and create 12 tools which we would then later use to create a range of marks with ink. Living in student halls, I struggled to find any outdoor materials like twigs and leaves, which made me think outside the box of what materials I could use. It made me look at my surroundings in a new way as to that everything can leave a mark. Once I collected my materials I began creating the tools, but I also wanted for each tool to have a trait which would make all the tools look like they belong in a set. I tried a variety of things like thread and wire but came to the conclusion that masking tape and some black thread was a good touch to the handles.
