I created this piece using pen and markers and I feel I produced a loose, colourful study while also making sure the objects were still recognisable. To begin with I created a simple black outline of each object and I felt this by itself was effective so I documented it before adding the colour. I feel that I was able to keep the size differences between the objects as they would be in real life which adds to the piece.
When adding the colour with the pro markers, my aim was to keep it very loose and not be too precious with keeping the colour within the lines. I feel it adds a nice pop of colour but still remaining not to overwhelming. I am particularly pleased with how the objects for ‘G’ and ‘P’ turned out as I was able to create the different levels and curves of the objects. Once I had added colour to all the drawings, I introduced quick marks around the outlines of the objects as when I was photographing the phrase some of the objects didn’t stay in place and would fall over without support. Therefore, by adding the marks my hope was to recreate that movement.
