Before starting this project I carried out some research into what infographics are as I haven’t really heard of them. Once I began my research, I realised that I have seen infographics around me, but not realised that that is what they were called. I really like how they are ways to visually present information and look forward to exploring how I can visually show my information on the chosen topic.

 

 

I began my brainstorming by thinking about how I could show information through graphs, bar charts and icons etc. Then it came to deciding what my topic should be. I had a few ideas in my head which I wanted to create an infographic on and I came to the decision of Concussion. However, when it came to carrying out in depth research into this topic, I struggled to find enough information on a global population basis and couldn’t imagine how I could effective create an infographic well.

 

 

 

So after I decided that I was going to change my topic, it was when I was on social media and I saw adverts for Period Poverty that I thought it would be a good choice as it is something I feel strongly about and has some interesting and shocking statistic which I could add to my infographic. I also was straight away able to come up with ways that I could visually show the information, so I decided to go for this. I planned out what the order of information would be roughly and came up with my title. Before starting my designs I thought it would be good to think about who my target audience would be, as this could influence what information I include and how I would present it.
