FINAL OUTCOME & THOUGHTS…
I decided to choose the dark version as my final outcome for this project. I really like the overall feel the black and white images bring to the composition. I feel like it provides a calming atmosphere to whoever reads it and allows them to take in the descriptions the author is making. While my colour palette may not be the obvious one for the text extract, I think it adds a modern touch to it, but also I wanted to try and replicate how the story would look if it had been transformed for the screen during the 1930s, i.e. in black and white film. Once I moved to CSS, I found my chosen images weren’t large enough or clear when enlarged to match my initial design, so I replaced them with alternatives. similarly, I chose a modern font for the body of test, but opted for a more transitional style for the titles. In terms of HTML and CSS, I feel the final outcome was successful as all the elements are where I planned for them to be and are aligned as I had hoped. I feel my spacing and padding is good, although, I do feel some areas could be reduced. Also, after searching both my HTML and CSS files, I couldn’t find what was making the navigation bar links open on a new tab, which I didn’t want to happen. But, for my first full attempt at building a designed webpage, I am pleased with how it turned out in general.
