Of the chosen words there was only one real option for me and it was the one word that immediately grabbed my attention and got me thinking; the word non-binary.

For me at least, this words makes me think of not conforming to old notions and ideas, it feels like a fresh idea and a very freeing one, a different perspective on the world offered by not conforming to gender rules and associated pressures and just being human.

However, that’s not its only meaning. Non-binary means, essentially, not being restricted to just two ideas or subjects but as much as you want.

with the word comes freedom I’d say. I think that’s definitely in its meaning. What I want to kind of explore in the mood board and indeed project is freedom of being, disregarding gender in clothes and creating a more androgynous feel to my work.

I really like this word “non-binary” it opens a lot of doors and offers free movement. I want to explore just being human without all the silly subcategories we involve ourselves in! We’re just human and these are just clothes!
