I think my denim challenge turned out alright. My idea for it was to create a really long tail coat with an open front that buttons beneath the bust- a long coat that almost resembles a dress really. I love imperfect things so I added lots of patches and mismatched buttons to this as well. Overall it was quite difficult and I had to restart many areas many times, especially the back as the tails weren’t falling right at first. The sleeves are uncomfortable but I can wear this garment which I’m glad of because I was afraid I’d just wasted three pairs of jeans! I’m glad it’s wearable and fits ok, I like the flap detail at the back that almost looks like a sailor cape type style, it happened completely by accident as at first I was going to cut it down so it made the back of the coat but I liked how it looked so I kept it. While it would be a stretch to call this well made I’m really glad it’s not fallen apart and actually fits me!
