Single Line Portraits
When creating the following single line drawings i used methods such as closing my eyes; using my left hand as opposed to my right; Drawing with my sketchbook on my head and drawing without my glasses on. This created some portraits with interesting composition and some that looked quite abstract. I also tried out different methods such as layering different colors on top of one another or having more than one image to a page. For the most part i used different types of pens such as biro, highlighter, marker and acrylic pens.

A3 Biro study with eyes closed.
A3 Biro study with left hand and eyes closed.
A3 marker pen study, drawing with the sketchbook on my head.
A3 Acrylic pen study, looking in the mirror.
A3 Highlighter and marker study, using left hand while looking in the mirror with my glasses off.
A3 Marker study with 3 different colors. Created by looking in the mirror and using my left hand.
For all of these drawings i did not look at the page. Each face is created using a single line. Unfortunately due to the paper type i used they were extremely difficult to photograph as the paper had a blue tone (even in direct sunlight). I feel this takes away from the art i have created as the colors look so vibrant and contrast really nicely in person yet this does not translate in the photograph.
My favorite of all these pieces is definitely the one where I drew with my sketchbook on my head as it looks so abstract and you really have to try to pick out the facial features. I find that really intriguing.
