Alt means mark making

I created most of my mark making tools from items found in the shed and garden; it was fun to consider what items could be used in a new way. When I was experimenting with the tools it was interesting to see that the marks sometimes turned out differently from how I expected. I thought…

Alt means faces

In this task I explored different features to add to each face and I tried starting the line at varying points. This meant that I came up with some variations to choose from. When I created the wire faces I used both florists and regular wire to see the effects of each. The florists wire…

Alt means houses

For my first house I put my building on eight integral stilts. My idea came from harbourside buildings with many short stilts. With the second building we were challenged to think about balancing a house on seperate levels, perhaps with fewer stilts than the last house. I chose to balance my building on the stairs…

Environment

Found type

I also explored some of the silhouettes of the objects and the potential for multiple letters to be created in the same fashion.

Named after the Basque country town of Guernica, it was painted as a response to the bombing of said town by Nazi Germany at the request of the Spanish Nationalists. Picasso sought with his painting to bring the attention of the world…

Alt means paragraph

I rest now on the table, unplugged, cord coiled beside me. Metal and blue plastic creak as I cool, too hot still to put back in my home, the box in the kitchen. Beside me the efforts of my work lie in a pile, now finished, ready to be returned to the cupboard.
