Following my pitch of ‘Somewhere Different,’ I was delighted to be able to say I received the majority vote within our group. Considering how I felt before entering the room, this was a complete turnaround. I feel my research and practice helped overcome my nerves a little, however inside I was dying. Feedback suggested my slides were a little untidy towards the end and I could use my cue cards a lot less. Overall a good effort, especially considering how I feel about pitching work. I think it has given me confidence going forward, but not enough that I am going to volunteer to public speak anytime soon.
