What worked Well?
If I was to say what worked during the pre-production process of the Animation Studio module, I would say the tone/value worked the best for me as it helped me understand lighting and values in 2D Art. Before I had issues with lighting in my art work, but thanks to studying the tone/values, I felt like I had a much better understanding on how it works within 2D Art as well as 3D.
What didn’t work Well?
What I would say didn’t work well would have to be the blog as I found it to be tricky to understand, and though I understand it a little more now, I still ended up forgetting about it on a weekly basis and had to keep reminding myself to add in new blog entries every week which I kept on forgetting. I felt like the blog made things easier but it also complicated things for me mostly as accessing it was hard due to how hidden it was.
What did I learn about creative team work?
I learnt that the process is a team effort and that everyone on the team has to be able to have their own input into the projects, even if their ideas don’t make it into the final product, also, communication is key to help form a team bond incase one member is stuck trying to work out something that they’re struggling with, another team member to help.
If I was to start the module again, what would I do differently?
I think if I was to redo the module again, I would make a note of each part of the assignment I have done and what I haven’t done so that I wouldn’t have to panic so much and also constantly remind myself to keep using the blog site for my diary entry on my work rather than forgetting about it.
What do I need to do more/less of to improve my Animation Practice?
I feel as though I could do more practicing on my drawing skills as well as the 2D Animation skills as I still need to get to grips with the animation software as well as make a better effort to create Artwork that is more to the level of a professional.
What might I change?
I might change some ideas around for the upcoming storyboarding and look back at what I could do to help the next Production Process go smoother.
What should I keep?
I believe I should keep on striving to push my creative flow going throughout not just the pre-production stage, but right into the production stage as I believe that the more I focus on making the art to the best of my abilities, the more I’ll learn to improve and grow my skills in the animation industry as well as my art in general. I also would keep the character concept ideas for the dragon moving forwards as it fits it’s personality in the animation.
