For this week, I started my progress with the three animations for this assignment. Alongside continuing the progress on the textures.
Animation
With the references that I have been collecting for this animation, it was now in time to put it in motion. For all three of my animations, I decided to do them in 2D due to me having more knowledge in this area and having a better work flow than animating in 3D software like Maya or Blender.
Firstly, I created a timeline for where the animation is going to be by going onto the new timeline icon at the bottom of the screen. This presents a new window that allows me to changes the settings of the animation like the amount of frames per second and the duration of the animation. Once the settings have been tweaked to my liking, I just clicked on OK and it created the timeline.
Afterwards, I created 2 extra new files with a timeline to represent the other animations that I had to do.
So for the walking animation, I decided to create a menacing/ threatening walk. The reason for this is I wanted to create a walk cycle with personality. For the running animation, I decided to create a jogging animation using a simple looking cartoon character. The reason for this is that I wanted to experiment with art styles and try something completely different. Lastly, for the body mechanic animation, I wanted create a punching back animation. The reason for this is that I wanted to experiment with smear frames alongside impact frames that you see when a character punches something very hard.
So now that I figured out what I wanted to do, I now started drawing the beginning frames of the animation so I can start on it in the next week.
Textures
For the textures, I attended to continue on working on the road curbs that Rhys send me by giving it the concrete look and then exported the textures.
Overall
Overall, I am pretty happy with the progress for this week. Felt like I could have done a lot more however, I am happy with the progress.
