Week 9
For this part of the week, I had to create an animatic for the looped animation. For it, I had to make sure that the animation was eight seconds long before transitioning.
For starters I used Photoshop to create the poses for the character along side the background and a few other props. They were done in a very sketchy and loose way but, I had to make sure that the pose is clear and readable and not look messy. Here is an a screenshot from the Photoshop file.
Then I moved every asset into After Effects and began animating it using the Automatic Key Frame option to speed up the process and get a base idea of what and how the animation will look.
Once that was done, I created some sound effects for the animatic by beating a pillow to create the sound for the punching back and my breath for the cat character when she starts punching. I added the sound effects in premier to create this animatic.
Overall, I am happy with the result of the animatic as the actions in it are clear to see and transition to the next scene perfectly. One thing that I am not happy about is maybe the camera movement. I could have made the movement a lot better and to make the items look like they were fixed in a position rather than sliding.
