One of the most notable props from any open-world style game is the weapons that are used. These are normally named and very recognisable per franchise. Some series contains hundreds of weapons, such as The Witcher 3, while some games have limited styles of weapons and have a smaller choice, such as Skyrim.

My idea is to create game ready weapons in Maya and display them in a scene in Unreal. Originally I was thinking of making one of the glass cases you see in Skyrim and placing a weapon in it, but I wanted to try to make multiple weapons that are more used or tarnished so I can work on more detailed texturing, so I’m currently thinking of displaying them in a scene like a weapons rack, armoury or forge.

In terms of what weapons I will pick, I want to aim more towards recreating (or creating my own designs), swords, just to stick to a more medieval thing, as opposed to creating more modern weapons such as guns.
