Museum Rebuild
When I received the museum file, there was a number of issues including textures not loading properly, camera fuzziness, black blotches on the walls and extremely shiny textures. I tried fixing the shininess of the walls and floors by adding a constant and replacing the roughness when attaching the textures, which worked well. Black blotches on the walls were fixed by adjusting the lightmass, which was increased to 1024.
Camera fuzziness was an issue which we believe was down to the original file being extremely small, and most objects when imported had to be scaled to 0.1 or lower.
When reopening the file the next day, although the project was saved and witnessed by group members being saved multiple times, the entire file crashed, and half of the objects were deleted. Lighting wouldn’t also build and would just stick at 0% with a long list of errors but was working fine on other files.
Due to getting the file so late and now being faced with these issues, I decided it would be better to completely rebuild the museum as I had access to the assets from the onedrive and had the texture files. I believed the faults were in the original setup of the file and I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to fix the issues in time for the deadline, as we will have texture issues and camera fuzziness.
Rebuilding the museum worked fine and we got all the necessary shots we needed for the final Video, as shown below. I placed fewer mannequins in the museum as we created 9 filler dresses, and the original set up had a lot of duplicates which were quite noticeable.
